First Night Hartford
First Night is a celebration of the New Year through the arts. It is an alcohol-free, family-friendly, public celebration that marks the passage from the old year to the new with art, ritual, and festivity. J Bar Express and Ball Drop
Be part of history as J Restaurant and Connecticut Children’s kick off the new year by dropping a 6-foot ball from a 110 foot crane. The ball will drop at 6pm and Midnight. Washington Street will be closed off between Lincoln St and Allen Place from 5 pm – 6:30 pm and 11pm – 12:30am.
Hop aboard the FREE “J Bar Express” between 4 pm and 2 am and cruise in style! Ride the trolley from J Restaurant | Bar to Bushnell Park for some free ice skating. Watch the Bushnell Park fireworks from J’s patio and count down to 2020 with our own outdoor ball drop!! The double-decker “J Bar Express” will run continuously from 4 pm – 2 am and is FREE for all riders!
