The Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance (SINA) is a partnership between Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hartford Hospital and Trinity College.

SINA’s mission is to work cooperatively with community stakeholders to restore economic vitality and improve the quality of life for the benefit of the people who live, work, visit, study, and play in the neighborhoods of South Central Hartford.

Community success depends on a strong infrastructure. Home ownership and safe affordable rental housing are a cornerstone for achieving a sustainable neighborhood stability strategy. SINA has witnessed first-hand the enormous need for safe and affordable housing and considers its activities with statewide advocacy groups as critical to ensuring that the gains the organization has made in Hartford are safe guard for the foreseeable future.

The properties located at 41-45, and 47-49 Wolcott Street were built in approximately 1850. These Civil war era buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The properties have been restored to their original condition; they are attractive properties with brick walls and brownstone foundations. Each structure is has an area of approximately 5,004 square and is configured as two, two-family homes; the first floor is a one-bedroom rental apartment and the second and third floor is a three bedroom townhouse style owners unit. In 2013, SINA received the Hartford Preservation Alliance Award for historic rehabilitation of 41-45 & 47-49 Wolcott Street. In April 10, 2014 SINA was recognized through CIL for the 2014 19th Annual Connecticut Real Estate Awards -Blue Ribbon Award for Best Specialty Project Multi-Family/Residential for Wolcott Street Rehab.
